Slovenia Launches Project Promoting Children’s Rights

Bookmark and Share

Ljubljana, 23 September (STA) - Slovenia launched in September its human right project “Our Rights” intended for children in Kosovo, Bosnia- Herzegovina and the Russian republic of North Ossetia, according to a press release from the Foreign Ministry. The project will be carried out as a part of Slovenia’s presidency of the Council of Europe’s Council of Ministers.

The ministry believes that the project will be a real contribution to the democratisation of the society in these countries. It promotes above all tolerance and values through learning about children’s rights.

Efficient programmes can prevent human rights violations by promoting peace and tolerance. Promotion of children’s rights is one of the main priorities of the Slovenian foreign policy, the press release added.

The “Our Rights” project was first launched in 2005, when Slovenia was at the helm of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).
