Ambassador Kirn Presented Letter of Credence to President Obama

Washington, 21 July (STA) - Slovenian Ambassador to the US Roman Kirn handed his credentials to US President Barack Obama in Washington on Monday. Ambassador Kirn was appointed to the post by President Danilo Tuerk on 6 May.

According to Ambassador Kirn, President Obama turned the formal event into a very pleasant meeting. Also present were Ambassador Kirn’s spouse and two children. Following a short talk, President Obama wished the ambassador and his family all the best during their stay in the US.

Ambassador Kirn succeeded in Washington the incumbent Slovenian Foreign Minister Samuel Žbogar.

President Obama received six more new ambassadors on Monday, as well as the three US astronauts who participated in the June 20, 1969 Apollo 11 mission, the first manned voyage ever to reach the surface of the Moon.
