Indianapolis International Festival

The annual Indianapolis International Festival, where Slovenia will be represented by the Slovenian community in the Indianapolisarea, will be held November 19 through 22, 2009. In keeping with the 2009 festival theme of “Inspiring Places,” the Slovenian cultural booth will focus on four regions: Primorska, Gorenjska, Central/Ljubljana, and Posavje.

In addition, visitors to the festival, will have an opportunity to experience a modern artistic expression of Slovenia through a current Slovenian blockbuster film Petelinji zajtrk (Rooster’s Breakfast) by Marko Naberšnik.

The film, which tells a story of people from the norteastern part of Slovenia, a region also promoted at the festival, will be shown on November 19.

This event promises to be one of the better efforts to promote Slovenian culture and over one hundred years of Slovenian presence in Indianapolis.
